I was drinking to my own success last night, funnily enough, and the sight of that half drunk pint of London Pride rings no bells at all. Largely, I think, because I can't remember leaving any of mine half drunk. I was certainly not half drunk myself. Oh no, I was all the way there, talking nonsense and travelling home via the great beer magic carpet...

And, having followed Andy's splendid lead, I've plodded out four or five miles for each of the last three days. Now, in order not to break the cycle, I really feel like I've got to do it today, despite my body being about as hydrated as the desert.

At some stage today, there's going to be a painful hour, and I fear it'll coincide with putting on my running shoes...
