'Prueba de fondo de melocoton' =
'Testing the depth of a peach' ??

That sounds very interesting, Antonio. Mind you, there are certain people around here with rather more expertise in 'Prueba de fondo de vaso de Guinness' ....

Oh man, I tried plenty of combinations for the DNI - with numbers only, with combinations of the letters, with dashes, with dots, in groups, in pairs.. I think it is a signposting issue. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to find no-one else has a problem. It's all just an excuse for me to send bizzare emails in my odd Spanish to confused and ungrateful functionaries.

I'm going to be up in Yorkshire drinking bitter during The Peach. One thing about this part of Spain, there's never any shortage of races...

A belated thanks for the race report, Antonio, and well done. That sounds like an extraordinary event. I just did some research on the web. One report (http://www.thinkspain.com/news-spain/9332) describes it as "the toughest race in the world". Hmm, I'm sure Ben Nevis-hopping Tim might have a few more candidates for that title, but still - 50km? Uphill? Southern Spain in mid-August? Crikey.

I'm 50 in a couple of years time, and have thought I should do something athletic (in my terms) to mark the occasion. Perhaps a 50km race? So possibly 2007 for me, but not likely to be 2006.

There are so many graphic reports on here from Spain that I really have to do one of these mountain races. Perhaps a more modest one next year to start off with.

Hi, Nigel
I once read about a race in France where the drinking stations were with wine.

Hi, Ashley

I´m sure you´d enjoy climbing from Granada to Veleta.

Hi, John

I also found it difficult to enter. My home address wasn´t accepted but I just left it out. My entry was accepted but I couldn´t print it. Anyway, I´ll try again. Have a safe trip to Yorkshire and enjoy the ale, John.

Hi, Andy

I´m sure you´ll enjoy the race. It´s something really wonderful although tough. At least, it was for me on bicycle.

Greetings from Almería

Antonio
