Dropped my phone in London on Tuesday - can't download images . . .
Suzie - I'll be happy to raise a glass( or 3) of the Black Stuff to our absent Almeria bound RC'ers too - but wish I was going :-(

Hope you all have a blast and bag lots of PB's
Antonio - you asked how my running was going - I'm struggling along. I got a horrible cold just after Christmas and it has been hanging on forever. That said, I haven't altered my running schedule. We're running 33.6 km. this weekend - which I'm not looking forward to. Our last long run was 27 km. and that nearly killed me. I'm hoping it was because of the cold, otherwise I'm in trouble. We'll see how this weekend goes and if I live to tell the tale. I'd much rather be running a half in Almeria! Maybe next year we can race together.

Suzie
33.6 kms . . . Suzie, please do tell us about that run!!!
That sounds like a real tester. Good luck - I'm sure the cold made a huge difference. I get really down when I run with a cold, but I'm always amazed (and relieved) at how much better I feel on the next outing (once the cold has gone). I'm sure that'll be true for you, too.

We'll have a few glasses raised to absent friends; you and Niguel will be sorely missed. I'll get SP to wolf down a seafood platter for you too Wink

Suzie, you´re really fit, 27 km, 33 next weekend. That´s really amazing with still nearly three months for your marathon.

Get better from your cold, S. We´ll miss you and the other friends who won´t be able to come this year.

Saludos desde Almería
With sincere apologiea for the amateur photography (no-one available to assist, including my recouperating son who recently achieved an A-level in photography and will now be getting up at 4am to drive me to the airport!) and the gratuitous exposure of unsightly body hair . . .
. . . here they are.

Hopefully I've transcribed the orders correctly.
If so it looks like we'll have a few spares (but not many!).
I'll bring a couple of extras along to Almeria.
.
Brilliant! Thanks Sweder!

Amateur photography ?

I thought it was an attempt to challenge the visual perceptions as created by such Illustious predessessors such as Bresson,Lartigue,McCullin etc
Dear boys and girls,
I wish you a good flight and a nice trip to Almería,
we see us tomorrow, at the Indalo tryp hotel, surely at the pasta dinner,
Hope SP brings my cayanos shoes, Smile

talk to the cayanos-foot...
Sweder Wrote:To confirm we have two minibuses booked from Murcia airport for Saturday morning. These will carry our traveling party plus baggage. Based on 16 of us the cost for this per capita, including filling up with fuel before we return, will be appx GBP 34.50 per person. At current rates that's virtually the same in Euros - I'm sure either currency will be acceptable.

I've booked one vehice and Ladyrunner the other.
Please plan on bringing cash with you to cover your seat (as it were) and whichever bus you end up on, pay the driver when we board at Murcia so that's taken care of.

No cash on boarding the minibus - no lift!! It's a long jog to AlmeriaEekEek

The vest and t-shirt look great! You will all look good running in Almeria - and looking good is half the battle!

I'm bound to tell you these were both 'large' sizes.
I suspect your XL shirt will prove 'roomy' on your new, slimline bod Eek

Tent, anyone Big Grin
I´ll probably pick up my race number and the ticket dinner at 4:30 pm. If you have already arrived and want to pick up yours as well, we can meet there then. Otherwise, we could meet for the pasta dinner at 8:30 pm at the door of the room where dinner is served. That´s the time when dinner is supposed to start. Don´t forget to ask for the ticket if you want to have the pasta dinner since there will be dinner for only 400 people.

I wish you all a safe and pleasant journey.

Hasta mañana.
Hi Antonio, barring any unforseen delays/ problems I would expect us to be at the hotel and checked well in before 4.30 pm, so lets say we'll meet you there then.
Have fun.

Already looking forward to the race reports.
Bad news.

As some of you will know, my mother is seriously ill at the moment. I went to see her this evening, and we think she may not last the weekend.

As a result, I've decided to pull out of Almeria this year. A great shame; I was hugely looking forward to the race and the socials, but needs must.

Hope everyone has a great time, and (circumstances permitting) I'll be running 13 miles on Sunday morning at the appropriate time, and raising a special pint of Guinness to you all sometime on Sunday evening.

Here's to 2010.

Andy
Bad news indeed. No doubt extremely tough to make but I'm sure it's the right decision.
Your name will head the legions of distinguished and much-loved absent friends to whom we'll raise a glass on Sunday evening.

Best wishes to you and M.

Thanks Sweder, but I will take my respectful place some way behind Chris on that list, if it's OK with you.
