Knees Up Mother Brown
I've done something I've not managed in far too long. I've rested properly.
A few days at Ringstead Bay, light swims, soaking my legs in the not-so-icy waters, easy strolls along the cliff-tops and simple, tasty home cooking.

Despite this the knee remains borked. Fears realised, my next task is to get that scan and go under the knife. Don't expect too much action in these parts for a while.

That's really bad luck Sweder, hope it's nothing too serious.
Ever thought of mountain biking with CharlieCat? Bike-riding muscles might slow a runner down a bit but can help protect your knees ... I think.

Hang in there, Sweder. Do keep writing - we want updates on MM and LL, and the medical dispatches. Have you got a plan to keep up your cardio fitness during this enforced layoff?

Thanks, and a good question. Yes, I plan to revisit my pre-P2P schedule. Basically fat-burning, short, sharp bursts of activity to whittle away the summer blubber and prep the bod. Shifting timber will aid post-op recovery/ reduce stress on the errant joint. This to be hitched to a period off the ale and better dietary controls to counter-act the recent lack of mobility.

As for writing, as stated here many times, running fuels that part of me. I rarely if ever feel incline to write much otherwise. Psychosomatic, possibly, but there it is.

And what about a bit of 'gentle' mountain biking? I got on the old bone shaker last night for the first time in a long while and it was great. You still get a good workout and the joys of those relentless climbs... but without killing your knee. Unless you fall off Smile

Well, I'd need a bike ... that, and, sadly, the knee is still an issue here.
It gives me gyp when driving - all about the angle, it seems. I'm off to the specialist on Monday morning. I should know a bit more after that. My uneducated guess is, surgery.
Things ain't what they outta be in there ...

RE:
Good news: I bought a biker's top yesterday.
Less good news, it was half-way through a 6 hour Dark Star brewery and outlets tour.
Hic.
