Now we're really talking daft. If you've never seen a dwyle flunking competition it's time you jolly well did.
Never mind that relative game of tiddly winks at the Birds' Nest stadium in Bay- Jing, this is the most hotly contested fixture in the international calendar pitting the Lewes Operatic Society (who provide the judge) against the Lewes Arms (who balance potential bias by doing the scoring and providing the ale). Each team takes it in turns to 'bat', which involves sending each member out in turn to hurl a beer-slop-soaked rag with a stick at the 'fielders', dancing around them in a hands-held circle. Everyone concerned is in fancy dress: folk musicians provide the backing. Don't stand too close: God help ayone attempting to drive up Castle Ditch Lane.

Lewes Arms (outside, obviously), 3pm. All proceeds go to the St Peter and St James Hospice

Aye, but especially when we've been thumped by three clear goals at home for the second time in four days . . . it's gonna be a looooog ol' season . . . Sad

In that respect, Lewes are in good company this evening
