Most Dutch I know speak with a better English accent than that...

I guess it's all part of the acclimatisation process. A strange thing to do though, knowing that the last thing the press needs is yet another reason to ridicule you. Maybe - and I think this might be true - he's actually very genuine and media-unsavvy, and just doesn't think about these things.
