I just caught up with this one - quite interesting, but the underlying theme seemed to be well and truly buried underneath the special effects. A better better movie along similar lines was Cry Freedom, although of course that didn't feature cat food, but at least it was a true story and didn't have the plot holes of District 9.

Actually I quite liked the cat food motif.

Have seen far worse movies though.
