Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Yorkshire Plodder - 05-02-2005

Well done to you all, sounds like it was brilliant. Wish I'd been there!!

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Nigel - 07-02-2005

Yes, Antonio, Cafe Paris was the RC front-line HQ for a few hectic moments on that euphoric post-race day. It was good to compare notes with our new Forum member Haile. Here's the official event photograph, taken by Haile of course. Also attached is another shot sneakily taken by the paparazzi, who were following our every move as always.....

A good place to go after a recovery run, NIgel.

Do you remember the name of the place where you had the seafood platter? Was it Café Bar Coimbra at Paseo de Almería?

Regards

Antonio

PS. You were lucky to have a sunny day last Monday. Today it started hailing at about 10 pm. The town was covered in a white blanket for a few minutes. However, by 12:30 it was sunny and warm again. Around 15º Celsius.

The seafood platter.

Worthy of a second look!

Oh, no, please. I´ve already had dinner and I´m getting hungry again.

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Sweder - 07-02-2005

I love the inadvertent masthead on the 3rd picture down.
It describes in succinct yet perfect detail the quest of SP and Sweder in their search for the perfect pint of Guinness.

Great photos, thanks Nigel and Suzie.

This is an article on Almería half marathon where we learn that the original course would have been easier since the Rambla hill would have been just one kilometre long and we would have followed avenida Cabo de Gata as far as the end of the sea front at Nueva Almería where Andy, Nigel and Ashley are in one of the photos. This will probably be next year´s course.

I´ve been checking the official photos again and I´ve realised I made some mistakes when giving some of your e-mail addresses so that you all could get your diplomas. Anyway, now you can get them yourselves.

http://www.todofondo.com/medioalmeria/

Just click in SOLICITA TU FOTO O DIPLOMA ( APPLY FOR YOUR PHOTO OR DIPLOMA ). Then, INTRODUZCA SU DORSAL ( WRITE DOWN YOUR RACE NUMBER ). After that, ENVIAR ( SEND ). Finally, DESEO IMPRIMIRME MI DIPLOMA GRATIS ( I WOULD LIKE TO PRINT MY DIPLOMA FREE ).

Anyway, if you don´t mind, I´d like you to be sent the photo and diploma by doing the bank transfer tomorrow as a present from me. Unfortunately, Andy SP´s photo didn´t appear and as Nigel and Sweder arrived together, Nigel told me he would send it to S. I hope I won´t make any mistakes now. If you don´t get them in a few days, please tell me.

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Antonio247 - 08-02-2005

This mornning I did the bank order. As soon as you get your photo, please tell me so that if you don´t get it I can e-mail the photographer.

San Marino and Spain are playing tomorrow a match at the same stadium where we arrived at the half marathon. My students told me that all the tickets were sold in just two hours yesterday.

Today I went for a run along the seafront and I could see some ranges of mountains with snow. However, it was warm at the sea level, around 19º Celsius. I even saw a man on the beach plodding along without a T-shirt.

I´m looking forward to meeting you at Reading half marathon in a few weeks´ time.

Greetings from Almería

Antonio
The dramatic finish photo arrived this morning, and I've forwarded to Sweder.
Many thanks indeed for your very kind gesture.

For all those interested in capturing the atmosphere of a major stadium finish, I've posted it into my race report - here's the link:

It´s wonderful you have already received it. You both look great. I expect Suzie and Andy have also got theirs. It´s a pity Andy SP´s photo wasn´t taken.

Hi Antonio

Yes, I've received mine now too, thank you very much indeed for doing that. Mine is a rather unflattering picture, but I'll try to post it later if I can sort out my graphics problems. (Don't ask.)

Thanks again

Hope to see you in Reading -

Andy

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Seafront Plodder - 09-02-2005

I must have been too *ahem* fleeting, for the photographer to catch. Sad

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Antonio247 - 13-02-2005

I´m sending a photo that my brother took yesterday from the sea front with snow at Sierra Nevada in the background. I went on a bicycle ride this morning enjoying the view quite a lot.

De nada, Ashley. Espero que te mejores de tu lesión pronto y que nos veamos en el medio maratón de Reading.

You´re welcome, A. I hope you´ll get better from your injury soon and we can meet at Reading half marathon.

Hi Antonio

I've only just installed my graphics app on this computer and had a chance to have a proper look at the CD of photos that you and your brother gave us. There are some great pictures there - thank you very much. I'll be posting up a lot of photos this week sometime. Andy and Suzie sent me some great shots too, and then we have the ones that M took, that I must admit I've not looked at yet.

I got my number for Reading today, by the way, though they still haven't answered my message about your number. I will try again tomorrow.

Hasta leugo

Andy

Muchas gracias, Andy.

I´m glad you liked my brother´s photos.

Hasta luego

Antonio

PS. I´m going for a run now. Tuesdays are wonderful. I finish lessons early.

Antonio:

I thought I should let you know that I haven't received any photo of the finish as yet. I'm only letting you know because it sounds like you've paid some money. I'm very happy with all of the other photos, so don't worry about it. I've never had so many photos from a race before!

I'm envious of all of you getting to meet up again in Reading. I'll be thinking of you. Have fun and enjoy the race.

Suzie

Almería half marathon. 30th January 2006 - Antonio247 - 18-02-2005

Hello, Suzie

I´ll send an e-mail to see why you haven´t received it yet. I sent one a few days ago and he answered back saying he had sent the photos. I´ll check again.

It´s a pity you can´t come to Reading as well. We´ll have you in mind too.

Have a good time, Suzie!

Antonio
