10 Weeks to Toral de los Vados - Riazor Blue - 21-04-2005

Aaagh, I know I'm late posting this and I just opened the file on the disk I saved the text to, and it's from 2 weeks ago.

Never mind. Last week went well, 66 kilometers. This week:

Monday 6 km @ 150bpm
Tuesday 8km @ 150bpm
Wednesday 3km warm up 4km @ 180bpm then 3km cool down.
Thursday 8km @ 150bpm
Friday 4km warm up, 6 x 200m sprints @ 190bpm 4km cool down
Saturday Rest Day
Sunday 28km @ 144bpm

That's the plan, things are going well at the moment, the miles are starting to increase on Sundays, I'll have to look for a few other routes. Lately everthing has been on the esplanade and the harbour wall. I have been feeling a bit guilty about running 6 or seven days a week and (perhaps) ignoring other things. (Not that anyone has said anything yet). Getting the car out and driving half an hour each way to a better location is not something I want to do every day.

I have signed up for a half marathon on 8th May, so that will be a good indicator of how things are going. I ran this one two years ago, two weeks after Madrid marathon and finished in 1hour 46.

I have spent all this week, and especially Sunday hugely envious of all those in the London Marathon, and those cusomers of mine who are running Madrid on Sunday, including Sampedro.

It's interesting to note that one cannot run 200 metres according to heart rate. Whatever was I thinking of ???

Still feeling envious of those FLM runners and those in Madrid this weekend. I'm sure Antonio has noticed aswell that the weather forecast for this Sunday is way, way different from last year.

Last year was HOT. I think it reached around 34 degrees, I cannot remember, but in the baggage reclaim where I was stationed it was too hot to touch the metal counter.

This year they are predicting rain, with snow over 1300 metres. I cannot remember exactly, but Madrid is quite high up, either 600 or 900 metres. anyway it'll be a bit nippy. Let's hope it isn't raining though.
