Breathtaking.
Can't wait!
Whilst it's true that the race comes close to my house on the opening two days I'm wary of trying to chase this thing around the County. It will be good to soak up some atmosphere; see the caravan and hear the whirl of the helicopters up above.

But the best view of the race will still be on TV; and seeing all the places I'm so familiar with on the coverage will probably be a bigger thrill than the 90 second blur of the actual race going past.

On a slightly seperate topic I managed to sample the Taylor's Le Champion beer at the weekend. All I can say is: however much it has cost to bring The Tour to Yorkshire it has already been worthwhile.

Can you courier some of that down to Lewes?
Courier? Jump on ya bike, Charlie!
Officially it's not made it further south than Hebden Bridge:

I can only advise you to go to your nearest Free House and plead with the landlord to get some on order. You never know. If we all drink as much as we can they might consider making some more of it.

You hear that Sweder? We've got work to do...

This is my kind of challenge. And when the going gets tough and you need to wheel out the big guns, it's time to call on the mighty Seafront Plodder ...

I will speak to Dominic, gaffer at the Bull in Ditchling. He has TT on draught 365 days of the year so he must have a reliable dealer. Darn, that means I'll have to pop in there this lunchtime. Oh well ...
I sense this might be getting out of hand.

Good man... we all have to make sacrifices to build a better world...
Definitely getting out of hand.
Cruel.
I'd say things are being taken in hand rather than getting out of hand. If these boys can pull this off and get a barrel of Le Champion into The Bull then I will be a very, very happy man.

Plus it will give me another excuse to go out and drink another half gallon Smile
I didn't see Dominic but one of his troops suggested their links with TT are solid and they 'should be able to bag some' of the Le Tour nectar. I'll be following this up. Meanwhile, after my obligatory pint of Revelation (the pump nestles between Harveys and TT Landlord and remains my first choice of the three just now) I dove into a pint of Bedlam Best. The gaffer's just bought the Bedlam Brewery, a local brew-house featured at the recent Lewes FC Beer Festival.

On, on!
Hmm, I'm becoming one of those boring reformed drinkers I'm afraid. I'm down to just six standard drinks before breakfast now.
I'm back on the wagon, though I'm not certain that [World Cup - 9 days] is the ideal time to set sail on what is a perilous voyage at the best of times.

If that's not holy enough, all being well, the weekend will see me back on the hiking trail to Geneva. Hurrah!
