Hello.
I seriously thought about this one, but when I found out it was in December, started to have my doubts as my legaroos aren't too springy in those winter (technically still Autumn, of course) months
.
But I guess the weather can be ok in December
.
But then it's a road race
, which isn't my favourite thing.
100th Anniversary things sounds nice though
and there's a fab medal on offer.
Then again, Hastings is a bit of a way for a 9.30 start
.
But entry was closed so couldn't get in anyway
.
And now it's reopened
And crowd support could be good
.
Undecided of Hove.
It sounds like you have talked yourself in to it
.
Get you credit card out quick before entries close again

Yes I did, in a moment of extreme weakness and misguided enthusiasm!
Feel good about it now though.
Course looks hilly- at the start.

Well done AH. After running JSJ and BH the course will seem like 26.2 miles down hill:RFLMAO:.
Did everyone receive their Hastings Marathon race number today? No shoe chip in my envelope. It looks like the race number is chipped instead.
Only 5 weeks to go now!!

Yes! Got mine too!
Two numbers in fact.
Well, one for front and one for back!
Does look like a great event- with the history, that is.
Quite exciting!
I wonder if runners in 100 years time will look back on us with the same sense of nostalgia in which we regard that pioneering crowd of 51 back in 1908?
Will you be wearing traditional 1900s running attire?
AH - I think that us girlies are safe to wear the latest lycra and thermal material running clothes as I'd be surprised if there were any ladies entered into the 1908 race.
But it would be good to see all you guys dressed for the occassion in 1908 running gears.
Photo attached of Dorando Pietri finishing the Olympic London Marathon in 1908.
And Stevio (our driver for the day) needs to take note of what his supporters costume needs to look like too!!

You are probably right, women back then knew their place - in the kitchen!

Simon, you certainly know how to charm the ladies!!

Say that type of comment in an arm's length of a woman and you are likely to get banged over the head hard with a hot frying pan:mad::mad:!!
Love the irony of your reply!!!:RFLMAO:
Keep poking the bear Simon
Dear god Simon. The ladies will bury you on the Downs if your not careful!
Poking the bear!!!
is there something your not telling us Simon:RFLMAO:
Simon poking the bear - it doesn't bear thinking about!!! :RFLMAO:
Be very suspicious on that Sunday run when all the ladies turn out in force, and I'm carrying my frying pan, and Steepler's got a shovel
!!
I'll bring a very BIG stick:p
'Poking the bear' is an abbreviated Americanism - 'don't keep poking the bear with that stick' is a euphemism for not antagonising someone - or something - that is already royally p*ssed off and might well do you irreprable harm if you continue.
Like I said . . .

Are you hiding?
I think that he has done a runner. He's giving us something to chase
